I’ll be doing something more interesting

I always watch the FA Cup but this year will see me doing something far more interesting on 17th May. I cannot muster enthusiasm for either team. In fact I’d go as far as to say that I would rather neither team won which is - of course - impossible.

I’m feeling very much like a small grumpy child about all this.

Saints preserve us

I have to face facts my club is doomed. I have hardly blogged at all about football as this season’s been so depressing - this may just have me jumping off a nearby roof.

I hate Rupert Lowe

Is he in league with the devil - or worse, Happy Harry?

Is the special one on his way?

Filed under: Football fever — by featherduster @ 9:46 am

Yes, it’s advent so you could indeed say the special one is on his way, but the special one I’m talking about is a 40-something, brooding, Portuguese, football management maestro. I suspect his whole interest in the England job thing is a bit of a red herring designed to keep his profile high amongst the sexier European clubs but it would be delightful to have him back on these shores (although his dog might not agree).

Happy Harry?

It’s not that I’m bitter (part of me does believe the conspiracy theories that he came to Southampton in some plot by Portsmouth to get us demoted) but well I couldn’t help indulge in just the smallest smile …okay I am bitter.

It’s not going according to plan

I’m actually not that bothered if England qualify tonight because I don’t think they deserve to. And if we have to rely on the likes of Israel and Andorra doing us a favour then we really are not the proud footballing nation we once were.

What baffles me is that why the mega expensive Wembley stadium with a roof looks like a paddy field?

The run is over

Filed under: Football fever — by featherduster @ 7:29 am

After a 43 week unbeaten run (stretching back to September last year), I lost this week in my football predictions league - poo! Needless to day many boys are delighted.

Predictions pressure

Filed under: Football fever — by featherduster @ 10:40 am

My predictions league form has been rather good of late and amazingly the eight weeks in advance predictions worked surprisingly well. In fact I’ve managed to put together a bit of an unbeaten run which is obviously annoying some people (boys mainly) so this week they have decided to pile on the pressure and I have to admit I’m really rather nervous. The result of this is that I’m in danger of turning into Kevin Keegan and completely losing it.
