It was the cut of his cape that gave it away

So Dumbledore is gay – I like that as an idea.

Round up

Hmmm…spending far too much time on Facebook - kidding myself it’s just because my friend base is growing and ignoring the general addictive quality.

So my eight weeks out of the country have been highly successful in terms of my football predictions – this weekend I feel it may have all gone wrong. Tried to get interested in the rugby but I don’t understand it and am more interested in Lewis Hamilton tomorrow – keeping most things crossed.

Stomach still ridiculously sensitive and am struggling with non African food – isn’t it daft that you get all worked up that you might get ill whilst you’re away and don’t then the minute you return home you stomach rebels – joy!

Lights have gone in the dining room – okay the ambient lighting is very er…ambient but not much use if you actually want to see what’s on your plate and the problem is that decent electricians are so few and far between that mine is currently (no not a joke) ignoring my calls.

Quite delighted that I haven’t seen any of the auditions for X Factor so am decidedly not interested in the programme - hurrah, this is progress.

Went to my first recovery meeting since I came back today – so nice to know there are other fucked up people in the world. I had been feeling so well whilst I was away but my life here is so bloody toxic that it needs all the therapy it can get!

On a final note: I LOVE autumn. It’s all cool and chilly so you can get cosy toes but the sun still shines nicely and the leaves are perfect for kicking along (although I have to say in London you never quite know what you might accidentally kick underneath which always worries me).

Technorati

Why does it refuse to take Pings sometimes? Highly annoying.

Rather loving Facebook though.

For f***’s sake

According to the local news they are trying to ban bonfires on Bonfire Night. One of the reasons: it’s too nationally exclusive. It’s a commemoration of a political event in England. The only place they have bonfires is England so anyone who lives in England should/could celebrate it. As a Tanzanian recently said to me about Eid “it’s not my festival but any excuse for a party” – and they’re the less developed people?!

I’ve joined and it’s addictive – oh goody something else to fill my day.

I have got a rule though: unless I know you in real life you cannot be my friend!

The misery has got worse

I have often defended the Northern Line as “not being as bad as people think” but either my memory of the service is through rose-tinted spectacles or people have bad-mouthed it so much that it’s decided to live down to its reputation. This morning I had to let three trains go through then squish myself dala dala style under someone’s armpit. Grrr!

Surprisingly buoyant

Filed under: Life, PR — by featherduster @ 5:11 pm

Without getting my hopes up too much, the market seems much more buoyant this month than the last two Octobers. Will I find myself a job? I flippin hope so. Apparently my bank is requiring that I actually pay money INTO my account – all rather annoying of it if you ask me.

I’m back!

So I actually have a worse case of culture shock being back in London than I did going to Tanzania.

For example: I went to buy some Parmesan in M&S on Monday. I got so bewildered that it took me 25 minutes of confusion before I walked out clutching some cheese and a tub of pineapple. I can’t even face the possibility of doing a ‘proper shop’ so it’s living out of the freezer until I feel able to go into Sainsbury’s without having a nervous moment.

GMTV’s coverage of Tanzania this week has also had something of an upsetting effect on me. Not least because what have the Tanzanians ever done to deserve ‘the pleasure’ of having Fiona Phillips visit them in an oh-so-charitable fashion?
